Hello everyone and Happy Fall! Here we are getting close to wrapping up

another year and my hope for each and everyone of you is that we

continue to look forward to better times. My advice is not to dwell on things

that have passed but to continue to look to the future. Learn from our

missteps, keep learning new things and strive to make your little corner of

the world a better place for all that dwell in that space.

We are looking forward to our annual Thanksgiving Day Luncheon on the

22nd . We are sold out with a long waiting list so if you have signed up and

find you will not be able to attend, please let the staff know at the Senior

Center so someone might have the opportunity to dine with us. We will

have a “traditional” menu with turkey, mashed potatoes, candied yams,

dressing, gravy, peas with pearl onions, cranberry sauce, rolls and pumpkin

or apple pie with whipped cream for dessert. Hope to see you there!

Before we serve you, we will hold an impromptu yearly election for the

board and a change to our bylaws. If you are attending the lunch and are a

current member of FMSC you will be allowed to vote. The Executive Board

is up for re-election, and they include Karen Ostrand as Chair, Jean

Lierman as Vice-Chair, Robin Hager as Treasurer and Kareen LaValley as

Secretary. We also need approval of our board members at large, which

are Sandra Peterson, Nancy Palasky, Michael Bunnell, Mary Maas and

possibly Barb Anderson. Members at large serve on committees and can

sit in for missing members of the Executive Board. We also have a change

to the bylaws. Article 3, Section 1 changes the minimum age of becoming a

member from 50 to 21. We believe this change might add a large influx of

new members.

That’s all for now. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and stay safe and

healthy!

Karen O.
